Snapkast

1. We love this program. It easily converts PowerPoint presentations into video files (vodcasts). The latest version can even convert Word documents. For the average educator it is more than sufficient to create high quality Vodcasts. This program was developed with educators in mind.
   
   
2. Keep in mind that Snapkast does not at this time support animation and you can’t see videos that you might have embedded into your presentation.
   
   
3. Snapkast allows you to simply drag and drop your PowerPoint or Word file into Snapkast, click one button and begin recording. After recording it does the conversion automatically.
   
   
4. One feature that is VERY powerful is the ability to on the fly make a blank white screen. This screen is essentially a white board with many colored pens. You can write on this whiteboard and record whatever you like. As Chemistry teachers, we have used this extensively as we have worked out problems on the screen.

This is an actual screenshot using Snapkast. Note the color palate at the top which allows the user to switch pen colors. On the side-bar is each of the slides in the Powerpoint lesson.
